Graduate


To be admitted as a graduate student, you must apply to the University through the University Graduate School at http://gradschool.fiu.edu and click on graduate admissions (first link on the left). There is a $30 applicaiton fee. No additional application or fee is required for admission.

 

In order to apply to Florida International University, you will need to create your FIU Panther ID to logon to the application.  If you are a returning student you may access the application via Learner Services with your existing Panther ID.

 

You will need to point your browser to one of the links below on the website to begin your application process:

NOTE: If you get interrupted and have to return to it later, you can save your work. Click the Save button at the bottom of a page.

Please remember to write down and keep your Panther ID and password in a secure place.

Your completion and submission of the FIU graduate admissions application will be your electronic signature, which is legally recognized by Florida Statutes.

 

Graduate application priority deadlines:

 

Fall semester: June 1st (April 1st for international students)

Spring semester: October 1st (September 1st for international students)

Summer semester: March 1st (February 1st for international students)

 

Applications submitted after these deadlines might not be processed in time for admission into desired semester. International applications take longer to process and should be submitted as early as possible.

 

International graduate student applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit a score for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Minimum required scores for respective formats are:

Internet-Based: 80
Computer-Based: 213
Paper-Based: 550
IELTS - International English Language Test: 6.3
