Education
Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Post-doctoral fellowship at the Brown University Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies.

Dr.Wagner is a licensed psychologist in the States of Florida (active status) and Rhode Island (inactive status).

Research
Dr. Wagner has published numerous scholarly articles and chapters, as well as two edited books, in these areas, and has received grants from the U.S. National Institutes of Health to examine risk factors for and the treatment of adolescent substance use problems.

He was recognized for his early career achievements with the New Investigator Award from the Sixth International Conference on Treatment of Addictive Behaviors.

Currently, Dr. Wagner directs FIU's Community-Based Intervention Research Group (C-BIRG), has been a member of IRGs for NIAAA and NIDA, and serves on the editorial boards of several journals.
