The Robert Stempel School of Public Health (SSPH) Accreditation Celebration took place on September 20th  in the FIU Faculty Club.  Interim Dean Michele Cicazzo welcomed approximately 60 guests and congratulated the faculty and staff of the SSPH for achieving full accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) this year, while recognizing the hard work towards this accomplishment of the Founding Dean, Dev Pathak, who was also in attendance.  Dean Ciccazzo also congratulated the department of Dietetics and Nutrition for their full accreditation this year from the American Dietetic Association’s Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education (ADA/CADE).  Provost Ron Berkman spoke about the history and development of the SSPH, and the positive impact it will continue to have on Dade County, and specifically recognized some of the faculty members who have been with the school from the onset. Maria Montoya, the Stempel Public Health Association Student President, presented Founding Dean Pathak with a Plaque of Gratitude for his dedication.
