The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) offers an array of opportunities for students to obtain knowledge and skills related to healthcare delivery and healthcare policy. For undergraduates interested in entry-level positions in health care organizations, the Bachelor’s of Health Services Administration (BHSA) provides a solid foundation in management and supervisory skills.
The Department also provides the opportunity for undergraduates in other fields to obtain a Minor in Health Services Administration as a supplement to their educational experience. At the graduate level, the Masters of Health Services Administration (MHSA) provides students with the knowledge and skills to work effectively within healthcare and health-related organizations. For students entering the field of Public Health (MPH), the Department provides a specialization which introduces broad issues in health policy and management. Further description of each of these programs may be accessed through the link to Academic Programs.
Our goal is to prepare students with an excellent foundation to serve the healthcare community with consideration of the array of opportunities and programs in the field. The Department incorporates the diverse cultural demands of South Florida’s healthcare industry and seeks to encourage our graduates to become culturally sensitive leaders in the national healthcare arena and the academic community.
As you can see, we offer many opportunities for students to develop managerial skills appropriate to their career goals. If you have any questions regarding our degrees and programs, please feel free to contact our Office of Student and Alumni Affairs Services.
