Background
Professor Frederick Newman earned a Ph.D. has served as a Professor of Health Services Administration since 1990.
He has conducted mental health and substance abuse services and treatment research throughout the country that has led to the implementation of improved techniques as well as changes in service delivery and funding policies.
He was a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences and was elected as Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society.
In addition, Dr. Newman served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Consulting & Clinical Psychology from 1991 through 1996 and again in 2003. He has coauthored three books and over three score journal articles and chapters in edited books.
Professor Newman has received several teaching awards and special commendation when reviewed by accreditation review groups.
