Environmentaland occupational health is one of the fastest-growing segments of the job market. Environmental and occupational health provides diverse career paths. Our graduates unique perspective in understanding the concepts of human genetics and interactions between environmental and occupational stressors and genetic variations would make them in demand not only in academia, but also in government and areas of private industry, such as, biotechnology and pharmaceutical research firms. Environmental and occupational health graduates are working as educators, toxicologists, risk assessors, environmental health specialists, compliance officers, industrial hygienists, ergonomists, occupational health scientists and physicians, researchers, and public health practitioners.

Career Description

Environmental and occupational health is one of the fastest-growing segments of the job market.  Environmental health is listed as an emerging job market under the service industry and the business industry by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.  The job outlook is very good for all careers in the environmental health sciences.  The salary range for employees within this field ranges from $20,000 to $100,000+, with the average salary falling near $50,000.
